Yep, the head has a real sense of solidity, of occupying a volume in space. The background definitely recedes. The body is more vague and ill-defined so far. Are you planning to leave it sketchy, or work it up a bit more later on?
No, I will fill in the body, but I want to sort out the eyes & nose before I move on. I'm off to make more of the second-darkest shade as I've run out.
