Looking back through old sketch books I though how my bus stop figures would translate well into a lino cut. So here's the result.
I want to play around more with the background, and try carving out the figures and printing in greys on black paper. Often, so many possibilities come to light while I'm working, and it's hard not to jump ahead. I'm trying to discipline myself to complete the work in hand before moving to the next idea.

A good idea this, Steph. But please don't let it get in the way of, or replace, your painting. I'd love to see you develop the sky theme, myself.
I like this. The vertical lines give the impression of rain, which is reinforced by the huddled postures of the figures. I'm not sure I'd be able to figure out it was a study of people waiting at a bus stop unless I already knew that, though.
I agree, this one could easily be one of the Sations of the Cross, or something else instead.
Reminds me of a Lowry but I'm a complete art dunderhead so maybe it shouldn't... I like it anyway.
If your current project has ceased to inspire you but you love the idea of switching to something else you've thought of ... is it really as important as all that to finish the first thing?
Have a fab Christmas

Yes, Mam. When I was looking through my bus-stop drawings I was struck by the Lowryness of some of the groups. We're lucky to have some Lowry in the Winter Gardens collection. And they change it from time to time so it's good to drop by regularly.
This is very good... I had seen it a while back but didn't get round to leaving a comment. I had started doing some wood prints in October - and the work process is just so much fun: it add that extra dimension of experimentation to it as you don't quite know (or at least I don't at the moment) how it'll turn out.
Many thanks for linking to my blog, too
